Between employment and solo self-employment in the arts and culture sector – what's important to keep in mind?

More and more people working in the arts and culture are adopting a hybrid approach – combining salaried employment with self-employment as a sole trader, or switching regularly between fixed-term contracts and freelance work.

But what social security, residence and tax regulations and specific considerations need to be taken into account?

In this webinar, Sebastian Hoffmann from touring artists provides a practical overview of the key fundamentals. The first part examines social security issues, including the Artists’ Social Security Fund (KSK) and the requirements for transferring to the KSK. It also addresses residence law issues relating to access to the labour market for non-EU nationals.

The second part focuses on tax aspects: what are the differences between VAT and income tax? And how are different types of income treated for tax purposes?

You are welcome to submit any individual questions in advance when registering via the online form or directly during the webinar.
