Dialogue Dance Company / Ivan Estegneev & Evgeny Kulagin
The performance follows the figure of a man who hovers between waiting and acting, and is shaped by the Soviet ideal of the body: disciplined, collective and with no room for intimacy. Beneath this rigid surface, desire, sensuality, tenderness and vulnerability gradually emerge.
Everything seems on the verge of happening: an encounter, a touch, a performance. Yet the decisive moment is repeatedly delayed. Two male bodies become an archive of experiences and memories. Through raw body language, power and dependence, violence and tenderness, fear and longing collide.
Somewhere between personal testimony and Greek tragedy, the performance explores how masculinity is constructed and what it costs to cling to traditional ideals of strength. Is another form of intimacy and self-expression possible?
