with Velia Krause
Hildegard Knef was full of zest for life and creativity; she was the most versatile of all the great divas. She has left us a wonderful collection of her own chansons, which offer deep insights into a sensitive yet strong soul.
Velia Krause has done a great deal of research and, as a Berliner with a wealth of life experience, is able to interpret these chansons beautifully without imitating Hilde. The programme features not only Cole Porter numbers and Hilde’s evergreens, but also lesser-known, exquisite gems.
