In an age of digital image overload, traditional portrait drawing and painting are regaining their appeal. This intensive weekend course offers the opportunity to draw and paint expressive portraits.

Be inspired by the Gemäldegalerie’s special exhibition, in which portraits are paired in surprising combinations – from the Old Masters to Classical Modernism.
Art historian Henrik Engel will provide an insight into the exhibition, and under the guidance of artist Birgit Bellmann, you will create sketches from original works as well as studies of a model from various angles.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. All materials will be provided.
